De Echevarría has exhibited extensively in New York, including one-artist shows at the United Nations (1998), the Living Room Gallery of Saint Peter's Church (1999), the Consulate General of Argentina (2004, 2010, 2015), the 2/20 Gallery (Chelsea, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010), Sirolli Fine Art (Chelsea, 2008), the Montserrat Gallery (SoHo and Chelsea, 2003, 2008, 2016) and The Interchurch Center (2013, 2015).
In Santa Fe, New Mexico, she has shown in group shows at the Joyce Robins Gallery (invitational), the Selby Fleetwood Gallery and the InArt Santa Fe Gallery, where María had a solo show, as well.
In 2001, 2003 and 2005 she presented her work in the Fourth, Sixth and 8th Annual Exhibitions of Argentine Contemporary Art at the Palacio San Martín in Buenos Aires. In 2008 she participated at the international art fair Expotrastiendas.
Her paintings have been selected for covers of globally distributed magazines ("Private Equity International" and "Interciencia") and are in private, governmental and corporate collections.
Born in Buenos Aires, de EchevarrÃa lives and paint in both New York and Massachusetts.She has studied under the Peruvian painter Reynaldo Bisetti and has taken classes at the Art Students League of New York, but she considers herself primarily self-taught.

De Echevarría ha presentado sus obras en numerosas exposiciones en Nueva York. Entre ellas se destacan las muestras individuales en la sede de las Naciones Unidas (1998), en la Living Room Gallery de Saint Peter's Church (1999), en la Montserrat Gallery (SoHo y Chelsea, 1999, 2003, 2008, 2016), en la 2/20 Gallery (Chelsea, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010), en Sirolli Fine Art (Chelsea, 2008), en el Consulado General de la Argentina (2004, 2010, 2015) y en The Interchurch Center (2013 , 2015).
En Santa Fe, Nueva México, María fue invitada a participar en una exposición de grupo en la Joyce Robins Gallery (2001). Asimismo expuso en la Selby Fleetwood Gallery (2004-2005) y en la InArt Santa Fe Gallery, donde tuvo una muestra individual (2007) y sus pinturas expuestas durante todo el año.
En 2001, 2003 y 2005 participó en la Cuarta, Sexta y Octava Exposición Anual de Arte Contemporáneo Argentino en el Palacio San Martín, en Buenos Aires. En 2008 participó en la feria internacional de arte Expotrastiendas.
